South Belfast Highway to Health Community
Ten Health Development Workers are placed in the ten most disadvantaged communities in South Belfast areas. Those areas include Ballynafeigh, Donegall Pass, Lower Lisburn Road, Lower Ormeau Road, the Markets, Sandy Row, Taughmonagh and the Village. We have also two Health Development Workers placed to work with the Chinese community and other Ethnic Minority Communities.The programme and activities delivered in each community vary depending on the local needs and interests. This depends on the level of community development of each community. For example Donegall Pass and Lower Lisburn Road will not have the same community structure and as many local groups as the Village or Lower Ormeau Road.
