South Belfast Highway to Health is celebrating Sexual Health Week with the launch of the new relationships & sexuality education pack entitled “Health, Sex & Relationships”
This programme aims to help young people to explore their attitudes toward sex and sexual health. It is designed to promote self-esteem and provide information about contraception and sexually transmitted infections in order to achieve healthy relationships and to contribute to the reduction of teenage pregnancy.
This pack is a co-production between South Belfast Highway to Health and South Belfast Area Project. It is the outcome of year of collaboration between both organisations to improve the health and well-being of young people in disadvantaged communities.
Project’s manger, Michael Goodman has stated: “I would like to thank all our partners in the various communities and statutory Agencies who worked with us in developing this programme, In particular I would like to thank the young people of the communities we work in who contributed time and energy to the programmes development and without whom the programme may not have the relevance it does. Everyone one involved with the project deserves the highest praise for their commitment and determination to produce something which I believe will be a useful resource for years to come.”
